CoLRiC Executive Committee

CoLRiC is run for members by members.

We have an Executive Committee primarily made up of senior librarians and heads of service who plan and implement future developments and initiatives.

CoLRiC members are encouraged to volunteer to join the Executive Committee. It meets around four times a year, but most meetings are via Zoom so you can be flexible with your time and commitment.

Library Manager, The Manchester College

Sam shares the management of nine libraries across a large FE and HE college in the Greater Manchester area. She is a member of Northern Digital Resources. For CoLRiC, she focuses on CoLRiC events, the conference and PAS.

Mishka Fielding Vice Chair

Library and Study Centre Manager, Loreto Sixth Form College

Previously at Bolton Sixth Form College, Mishka now works at Loreto Sixth Form College where she manages the library/study centre. Her particular areas of professional interest are marketing, the transformation of library services and curriculum engagement. She is a tutor for year 12 and year 13 students.

Jim provides strategic leadership for his College’s Library Service and Learning Centre. He has responsibility for creative services (media, video, graphic design) for College events, marketing services and website. Jim is CoLRiC’s Treasurer.

Mirna Peach

Head of Library Services, Leyton Sixth Form College

Mirna’s role incorporates the management of all things library, including Study Skills provision and the Catch Up Tutorial programme. She is also Support Staff Governor and sits on the Quality and Standards board. She also has her own tutor group, supporting mainly year two Sixth Form students pastorally and through the UCAS process. Mirna chairs CoLRiC’s Executive Committee meetings, provides updates on sector activities and developments and provides strategic direction and development for CoLRiC.

Learning Resources Manager, Oldham Sixth Form College

Corinne is in charge of learning, digital and e-resources at her College. She is also the copyright officer and data protection officer for Pinnacle Learning Trust. She is the Chair of LEGO (Librarians in Education Group, Oldham). She is CoLRiC Co-chair, with a particular focus on the CoLRiC conference, data protection and GDPR.

Andy Eachus

Digital Skills Trainer, The University of Huddersfield

Andy worked in FE for over 20 years supporting staff with embedding digital and web technologies into their teaching practice. Now working in the HE sector, Andy focuses on digital skills training for staff and students and specialises in Assistive Technology and Digital Accessibility.

Subject Librarian, Kirklees College

Sue’s duties include all aspects of student support in relation to resources and IT, academic skill development, curriculum liaison and collection development. She develops support mechanisms for students with low levels of literacy and works closely with students to develop their academic competence. Her professional interests relate to all aspects of information literacy.  She is a trustee of her local public library.

Andrew Eynon, Executive Committee member

Grŵp Library & ILT Manager, Grŵp Llandrillo Menai

Andrew manages ten libraries, drop in IT facilities, print shops, learning technology and the library and information studies curriculum.  He is Chair of Jisc Content Group for FE, a member of Welsh Government post-16 advisory group on ‘effective design and use of digital learning resources’, an assessor for a new library apprenticeship scheme in England, and a Cilip mentor. For CoLRiC, he focuses on advocacy and links with other library and educational agencies.

Learning Centre Manager, INTO Manchester

Chris has worked in HE, FE and sixth form sectors and currently manages a library in a private college, preparing international students for University study. He procures all e-resources for the college and is the chief advisor on copyright. Chris is the sponsorship officer for CoLRIC.

College Librarian, Northampton College

Grazyna has overall responsibility for Library Services, Study Skills, open access to IT facilities and equipment and delivery of Digital Skills Programme for Entry and Level 1 students. She is a member of LIEM (Libraries & Information East Midlands). For CoLRiC, she focuses on our Best Practice Award processes and shares good practice via our Jisc mail discussion forum.

Helen Sherwood, Executive Committee member and Editor of Impact

Senior Librarian, Wakefield College

Helen manages a small team of Librarians and Library Assistants. As Senior Librarian she works with curriculum, IT and quality teams to ensure the Library service is meeting the needs of students and staff. She is a member of Northern Digital Resources Group (a JISC community of practice) and the JISC E-books for FE focus group.  Her main areas of professional interest are digital learning, and the marketing of library services and resources. Helen is the editor of CoLRiC’s e-newsletter CoLRiC Impact.

At  her college, Tracey is responsible for all aspects of the library service both the physical and digital spaces and stock.  She is a committee member of ARLG North East. For CoLRiC, Tracey focuses on events and awards.

Val Skelton

Val works in publishing and event design with a focus on libraries and information work. Together with Gary, she provides administrative and executive support for CoLRiC.

Freelance writer, researcher, editor and CPD events planner. Librarian, information scientist and IT professional with twenty-five years of experience in higher education. Together with Val, he provides administrative and executive support for CoLRiC.
