CoLRiC changes June 2011

CoLRiC has a new Chair and a new Administrator and says goodbye to a long serving and much valued member of the Executive Committee

At the Annual Meeting of Council in June, Fidelma Bleasdale announced that she was standing down as Chair of CoLRiC and stepping away from Committee due to new work commitments.

Fid has worked on the committee for a number of years and has shown enormous commitment to the organisation and its members. Efficient, supportive, and approachable, one who always delivers on promises as well as being a driving force for quality, Fid is respected by those who have worked with her. She will be sadly missed at Committee, but we wish her well and thank her for all of her hard work and time enthusiastically given.

Margaret Phillips was confirmed as the new Chair; she had been Vice-Chair since last year. Margaret has worked on the committee for a number of years and has been involved in a variety of the CoLRiC projects e.g helping Fid organise conferences, the CoLRiC Beacon Award and Peer Assessment. Margaret has worked in Public, NHS and HE libraries prior to entering the FE libraries sector in 1988.

The Meeting also welcomed Sue Woolmer as the new CoLRiC Administrator, taking over from Louise Humphreys who has just given birth to her second child. Sue comes to CoLRiC from the National Foundation for Educational Research where she spent several years providing information services to local authority education managers.

Please don’t hesitate to contact Sue with any enquiries at colric@colric.org.uk.
