CoLRiC Beacon Award

CoLRiC sponsors an AoC Beacon Award for the effective integration of libraries/learning resources centres in curriculum delivery.

About the award

The Award is to promote and encourage good practice and high standards in libraries/ learning resources centres in colleges, and to enhance their potential as areas that contribute to the delivery of the college's curriculum. It is open to all further education colleges in the United Kingdom and is awarded biennually.

The assessors look at

  • The liaison, involvement and consultation between LLRC staff, academic staff and college management
     
  • The participation of the LLRC in the college information and curriculum delivery strategies
     
  • The integration of students (including flexible and distance learning) in curriculum delivery through the LLRC
     
  • The use of information and learning/communication technologies through the LLRC.
