Council for Learning Resources in Colleges announces 3 prestigious award winners

At CoLRiC's 2019 Conference in Birmingham last Friday June 21st Co-Chair Corinne Walker acknowledged and rewarded best practice in the Further Education and College sector with the presentation of three prestigious Library and Learning Resource Centre awards.

AwardsThe Library at Northampton College was awarded the CoLRiC 2019 Best Practice Award for demonstrating excellent practice in digital literacy. The DigiCap (Digital image007.jpgCapabilities) scheme is an excellent initiative helping to improve and develop IT skills and confidence in using new technology across all levels, from very basic to advanced.

Council for Learning Resources in Colleges announces Peer Accreditation Assessment Award

The Council for Learning Resources in Colleges (CoLRiC) is delighted to announce that following their Peer Accreditation Assessment in October, Oldham Sixth Form College’s learning resource service “The Know” was awarded Grade 1: Excellent.

CoLRiC assessors visited the College to evaluate the quality and impact of the Learning Resources service through meetings with key members of teaching and support staff and a representative range of students. The key focus of the review was on the impact of Learning Centres on curriculum development and the contribution toward retention and achievement successes. England - sixth form and FE funding squeezed

A report on educational spending in England shows that funding per student aged 16-18 has seen the biggest squeeze in funding.

The 2018 Annual Report on Education Spending in England, funded by the Nuffield Foundation, explores the spending trends per student in four stages of education: early years; schools; FE and HE.

CoLRiC is delighted to announce the full programme for our upcoming 25th anniversary conference in Birmingham on June 22nd. There’s a keynote presentation from CILIP CEO Nick Poole alongside a range of topics including, numeracy, the FE/HE interface, information literacy and apprenticeships. Reminder - and an extended March 29th deadline - Best Practice Awards 2018

Late last year we launched the fourth round of the CoLRiC Best Practice Awards. The BPAs acknowledge and celebrate innovative ideas in FE library/learning resource service provision.

We’re aware how busy everybody is as we approach Easter so have extended the deadline for entries to Thursday March 29th, 2018.

Winners will be announced on the 7th May 2018. As it’s CoLRiC's 25th anniversary year, the winner in each category will also receive a £250 cash prize.
